Here at Rainy Lake Labrador Retrievers (RLLR), I am very proud of my kennel facilities,
which I actually use sparingly!!!
The indoor kennels are climate controlled with heat and air conditioning and they are all 8' x 8' .
Each kennel has its own doggy door so each occupant has their very own outside run, which sizes vary.
The outside runs for the 3 left kennels are 8' x 24', the middle kennel outside run is 16' x 40'
and the right kennel outside run is 16' x 16'.
I also have a doggy door in my house, and that fenced in yard is about 40' x 60'.
There are 3 kennels on the left, a kennel in the middle, and a kennel on the right.
There is also a large area for food storage and out-of-kennel play time for puppies/visits.
You will also see a wash tub for puppies, toys, food dishes and water pails,
which has a "quick connect" PVC pipe system that can be run to the floor drain when used.
Finally, keep in mind I only use these kennels when:
(1) I am pairing up dogs for breeding
(2) when whelping puppies in the house (this is done in my bedroom)
(non-mama but "breeding" dogs stay in kennels so the new moms aren't stressed out by them being in the house) ,
(3) after puppies that are 3 weeks old (then rest of dogs come back into house).
Once the puppies are 7 weeks old they are all back in the house with rest of dogs
to learn more adult dog socialization and house skills.
When puppies are 4 weeks old, I add crates for crate training purposes.
I use the "enclosed/dog house" style of crates, not the "open/all-wire" ones.
